Our Mission

Defending Entire Communities, One Home at a Time

Trident Ember Defense exists to defend whole neighborhoods from wildfire—not just individual homes. We saw a critical gap in the market and recognized that true wildfire resilience requires community-wide protection, not isolated systems or DIY solutions.

The reality is that wildfire defense fails when only a few homes on a block are defended. Embers don't respect property lines, and a single unprotected structure can ignite an entire neighborhood. Yet 90% of families are priced out of professional defense, leaving communities vulnerable. While sprinkler systems costing $40,000+ protect the few, everyone else faces hardware-store DIY kits that are inconvenient at best.

We democratized professional ember defense to make neighborhood-scale defense possible.

After witnessing the 2018 Woolsey Fire and the devastating 2025 Palisades and Eaton Fires that destroyed over 18,000 structures, our founding team realized the market was failing entire communities. Todd Gavin (CEO & Founder), with his USC Neuroscience/Data Science background and experience as a Product Manager at Microsoft and Google, invented accessible ember defense technology. Cole Richards (COO & Co-Founder) and Nate Tennant (CFO & Co-Founder), childhood friends from Oak Park with backgrounds in UCLA Data Science and USC Real Estate respectively, experienced wildfire devastation firsthand and understands the importance of ember mitigation.

We're not here to defend a few homes—we're here to defend the whole block, the whole neighborhood, the whole community. When every home on a street has Trident Ember Defense Sprinkler System, embers can't take over. Neighborhoods become defensible. Communities survive. True wildfire resilience happens when we all defend together.
